The Marion & Aaron Gural JCC provides a social day care program called “Come Alive”, for persons with dementia and other impairments. Come Alive provides an opportunity for homebound older adults to participate in social, recreational and intellectual activities in a bi-weekly structured program. Kosher lunch will be provided and door-to-door handicap accessible transportation is available on a limited basis. Your loved one can socialize in a supervised and stimulating environment. Parkinson’s Support Group
The Marion & Aaron Gural JCC, in cooperation with the Parkinson’s Support Group Foundation of Long Island, Inc., provides a weekly year-round Tuesday Activity Center at the JCC from 11:00am- 2:00pm. The purpose of this group is to bring together Parkinsonians, spouses, and their families, in order to help them better understand the nature of the condition, gain confidence, courage and optimism, learn about proper exercise and “come out” and join in community activities. The scope of activities includes physical exercise, speech, handwriting, relaxation, socialization, discussions, entertainment and rap sessions to discuss common problems.
