Special Needs Caregiver Support Group
While attention and assistance is given to individuals with special needs, the people caring for them are often forgotten. Join our Caregiver support group, geared specifically to those caring for a family member with special needs. This group will allow the often invisible person behind the chair the opportunity to talk about how having a special needs child or family member effects their life and let’s them express their feelings about the care they give to their family member. This group provides caregivers a safe place to express their frustration, anxiety and fears in the presence of a caring social worker. The social worker will provide support, empowerment and will work with the group to help the participants identify coping mechanisms. She will also offer referrals and provide information regarding services as needed.
Monthly, beginning October 6
